Well, look who it is.

The Fink, with a Mac. HA

Bet some of you never thought you’d see the day. Actually, I must say that Macs have come a long way since the old days. I have to admit that this machine feels and acts a lot like a Windows computer. Right or wrong, that’s how it feels to me. It’s all good, though.

Now I have to get Boom Boom up here to do his mammoth Logic Studio training session (and believe me, it will be mammoth). Willie boy, there’s a whole lotta chocolate and vino coming your way as gifts!

Still, I love me some XP at home (and I also got a new PC desktop at school), so you could say that I’m playin’ for both teams. Heh.

Speaking of teams, the Tribe won one last night. I also got all the high school choir music ordered, survived a nasty hospital test (no worries, all is well), and got some other issues straightened out. Things’re lookin’ up, fiends. Things’re lookin’ up.

Off to play with Jake for the morning.

Fink out.

Oh yes, Thomas. But before you de-friend me, I’m basically using it for composition & sequencing. I still love me PC!

whooo hoooo! Welcome to the world of mac! When you invite Boom Boom to OH would you let me sit in the corner? I am taking an hour logic pro class once a week with a mac genius at the store. I am not giving it as much time as I need. One thing for sure, I am getting real good at Garageband! XXOO

@Jan: I’m up for a 2-for-1 deal if you are!! :-) But Fink’s use case may be a little different than what you may be doing with Logic. Still, if you’re getting one of the MacStore Genius-suz-uzz to walk you through LS, you are probably WAY better ahead than li’l old me

First of all, Bite Your Tongue, gurl! “…machine acts & feels a lot like a Windoze machine…” You sure know how to hurt a guy, eh? LOL Hey – check this out:

GarageBand is fun, but we’re going right to the A+ package with Logic Studio. WAY more virtual instruments, samplers, + the entire GB loop library. Once you get your feet wet with Logic & see how to do your sequences using this platform, you’ll slap yourself on the forehead & say, “Why didn’t I know about this sooner??!!”

Can we have rice crispy treats, too???

I cannot wait to be fab on LS! And RK treats will be close by — you’ve only to say the word, bird.

And looks like Boot Camp is a nifty piece of software! Could it run Finale & everything? Or won’t I need Finale with LS?

So Boot Camp forces the Mac to boot in Windoze only. The better solution is VMWare Fusion…it’s CHEAP and it basically lets you run a “virtual” Windows machine all at the same time you’re still running OS X. You can switch back & forth just like switching to a different program. Bootcamp requires a reboot to get back to Mac. I’ll show you when I see you (I run VMWF on my MacBook Pro).

Apple just released an update to LS about a week ago – one of the key new features is WAY improved notation support. BUT if you already have the Finale install disk for PC, might as well just do VM if you want to do Finale on your Mac instead.

We are gonna have TOO much fun geeking out…

Yiou have fallen to the dark side. You have been tempted by the quick and easy path which shall lead to hatred and destruction.

Yeah guys – and I gotta get that upgrade to W7. Running Vista on the desktop at school, although no problems yet for what I use it for (web, Word, Finale — we’ll see how it works with Joomla). My IT gal intended to order the XP “downgrade” but somehow some wires got crossed. Need to talk to her about that this day…
