Texas II

OK I lied. I said I was never going to eat again, and dang if I didn’t blow that last night. And I even ate steak again. Geez! But it wasn’t half as fun as hanging with my wonderful stepchildren at Nancy’s in Bastrop.

This was a high point of the Thriller’s vacation as well, since he doesn’t get to see his kids nearly as often, with 1300 miles separating them. It was a delightful evening.

Here’s proud papa with his gorgeous daughter Johanna, handsome son James, and beautiful daughter-in-law Vanessa:

And here ends our most excellent detour from the Old Road. It’s back on it today (after 8+ hours of navigating northbound Texas highways), as we head for Amarillo after Starbucks.

More to come! Have a great…um….I have no idea what day it is.

The blog has been posted…now I can breathe. Ahhhhh.

Sweetie, you’re in Texas. They eat a LOT of steak in Texas. :0) You’re fitting right in!

I’m so glad that you all got to be together last night! They all look wonderful. Have a fun and exciting trip to Amarillo! Make sure the hubs drinks plenty of coffee. He has to avoid all flying objects on the road and needs to be alert. :p~~ Love you both!

It was great fun, Mave. Wonderful to see them and sit and get caught up! And I call a moratorium on all pickup trucks with unsecured CRAP in the back…because it always seems to find the Finkmobile!! LOL

We’ll update later — right now, all I see is lonely, open road surrounded by rolling hills…

Somehow I knew you’d eat again. LOL So glad that you’re having a great time connecting with family and friends as well as traveling. It’s great that the Thriller had the thrill of spending some time with family.

Haha you know me too well! I put not eating just slightly below taking a bullet on the Suck scale, LOL

It was fantastic being with family last night! I wish we were closer, but that makes it all the more fun to do the road trip!

Oh yes I did, blaaaaaaaaaaaaark!! It was good, though. Like Hannah told me this morning on the phone: on vacation, calories don’t count. I’m running like a moose with that! HA

      Love you!

LOL ! What on earth did you drive all the way down to Bastrop for? Nancy’s? This must be a new place. Hope you enjoyed it, but I’m sure not as much as the company. I’m sure you’re getting used to the car’s interior by now…. Hope you keep having fun!

Hey g/f! I loved seeing your old stomping grounds! We went to that little Western shop in the historic district and bought some pretties…it was nice. And Nancy’s is indeed new — it was very good. Actually, when we booked the hotel, we booked in Bastrop because we weren’t sure where we were going to do our visiting. But I’m glad we went there — you should see that new Cedar Creek High School, wow!
