Relief, sadness

Relief that the idiot in Florida finally came to his senses; sadness that there’s so much hate in the world.

Today, we commemorate one of the worst disasters we’ve ever seen in this country. Imagine the heartache for those whose everyday lives are filled with this kind of torture.

I’m glad, too, that the moron in Gainesville stopped this madness. He said that God told him to stop. Please. I don’t believe God ever sanctioned it to begin with. Why is it when everything goes right, it’s because of God, and when everything goes wrong, God is blamed? Anyway, it’s a sad day for remembering.

It is a sad day, Mave. Do you remember what you were doing when you heard the news? I was walking back to my room from the principal’s office at the middle school, and another teacher, who was coming the other way, said to me, “I just heard somebody bombed the Pentagon.” The day went downhill from there.

Yes, I do remember where I was and what I was doing. I was living in Titusville, Fl.. I was watching GMA when they got the news and started reporting on it. I was absolutely stunned. The guys were sent home from work because everyone thought we were under attack. It was a very scary day.

I was pulling into the drive @ work when my ex- called me on the phone & told me that a plane had hit one of the towers. I hurried to my desk & logged into cnn.com just in time to see plane #2 fly into the other tower. I was devastated….

From my office window at Nokia, I had a great view of the flight approach pattern to DFW airport. It was soooo incredibly eerie to NOT see any planes coming in for a landing for pretty much the rest of the day.

The Friday following 9/11, I had to fly to our San Diego offices. DFW airport was a ghost town. There were more military personnel armed with assault rifles roaming the airport than there were people headed to their departure gates.

And AMEN sister re: so much hate in the world. Lately (to me), it seems to be coming from people professing to be Christian but acting completely contrary to what Christ would do. I was thinking about the nutjob in FL (I won’t even call him a pastor) – he must have missed “WWJD 101” in theology school (if he even attended)….
