Just….don’t.

  • Don’t get me started on the whole Jim Tressel thing.
  • Don’t get me started on the 3-6 inches of snow that’s predicted for tonight.
  • Charlie *yawn* Sheen — BOOT to the head. Don’t get me started.
  • Don’t get me started on mean people.
  • Don’t get me started on gas prices, and how they might totally smoke my vacation this summer.
  • Don’t get me started on … well, anything.

Now, going back to bed? I could get started on that! Happy Thurfsday anyhow. Hugs and good wishes go out to our fiend and regular RtB offender RD, who has a heart catheterization today. Thinking of you, pal!

You may be surprised to learn my feelings about coaches hiding stuff in order to win or college players being stupid. Not as vicious as you may assume.

Now, in the same string of stories that included Tressel’s was a story about Miquel Cabrera of the Detroit Tigers going all-drunkstar at a bar and the officers actually laugh at him and joke about how hilarious it is on the tape. When we’re talking about MLB — or professional groups (like symphonies, teachers, workers… etc) — then I want to ninja someone in the throat.

I guess, since I’m SO, SO tired of bad news, I’ve just accepted that any kind of stupid thing that a college kid can do for attention; they’re gonna do it. And we shouldn’t really be surprised that adults in charge try to get away with things since it has been proven time and time again that presidents, or most anyone else, can do whatever they want. Then I just leave it at that.

True. And what cheeses me is many of the fans of this man would ninja the throat of someone who accidentally cut them off in traffic, but Tressel? He gets a full pardon for knowingly lying and passing it off with some half-baked non-apology and claim of ignorance. OSU is a great fat bloated cash cow, and he knows it, Gordon Gee knows it, and the NCAA knows it. End of story, because that’s what talks. Blah!

You ever notice how rarely professional hockey players and coaches have these problems? Is it coincidence or are (North American) hockey players brought up amidst traditions and legacies that constantly remind them that the game is always bigger and more important than they are? Just sayin’.

I hear ya. I wonder — are pro hockey players/coaches just a different breed? There’s very little Hollywood in hockey, it seems. There don’t seem to be any LeBrons or T.O.s or (gag) Roethlisbergers in hockey, either pro or collegiate. It could be because I don’t follow the sport, I suppose, but I am pretty regular at reading sports news, and I rarely come across anything about individual hockey players (not counting the recent unfortunate incident involving the severe concussion).
