I Say Go Here

You are going to love me this morning. I aim to keep you busy while you drink your a.m. beverage, though I know I might be a bit late for that this day.

First, I have no idea how this guy does it, but sometimes it doesn’t matter.

=============

I found these interesting, mostly for their artistry, but also because of their blatant honesty (e.g., shut up!).

Hey Old Ones, remember this little novelty from years ago? Well, as in all things, there’s a computer app for that. You can play with it here.

Some awesome photos. And here too, depicting life in the US before Pearl Harbor — but in color. Amazing.

Maps of War – very cool and informative collection of Flash presentations. Be sure to view them full screen.

Talk about a talented man

Are we done? I think so, for another day. Much work to do, and the more this body rests, the more it wants to stay at rest. Know what I mean?

    You know, I read yesterday that we are spending trillions (yes, TRILLIONS) of tax dollars on our war machine. I know I’m opening a can of worms, and maybe I’m blind but I am still not completely sure why we are fighting over in the middle east. Am I alone? I have yet to delineate a clear objective other than oil. If someone can enlighten me, please do.

    Why don’t we go back to selling the bonds? We’d raise the money we needed for the wars and then the tax money could go to other stuff – like music education (*gasp!) or health care. People who support the war effort could buy the bonds and those who don’t support it don’t have to.

    Crazy idea, yes?

    PK.
    (Sometimes the P stands for Pollyanna. Deal with it.)

    A simple thing like a kaleidoscope!!! I remember Walt Disney using one in his TV program “Wonderful World of Color” back when TVs were just converting from black and white. He was a pioneer. One day he stumbled upon his animators taking a break and trying to spin a ruler on a thumbtack. The animators were scared they’d get fired for tinkering with such a stupid operation. On the contrary, Walt stopped and suggested a solution to get the ruler spinning more freely.

      I am just now watching “The Boys” — the story of the Sherman brothers, who wrote the music for Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and others for Walt Disney and Cubby Broccoli. Disney was indeed a visionary! He was the first major film studio mogul to hire, house, and put under continuing contract a pair of songwriters. What an inspirational story — you should see the docu if you haven’t already.
