Aaaand the inevitable

Yep, I’m on about stuff this morning.

I hate it when things pile up on my desk and in my brain, and I feel like I can’t do anything about it. Too many things to do beforehand, making it so there’s not enough time to tackle it now. Frustrations are mounting. Before I suck it up and get on with it, I will barf it out onto the page, to wit:

  1. I have got to get started on choreography and song selection for Dinner Theatre, but I just can’t carve out the time this week. Is that insane or what? I’m on summer break, fuh cripesake.
  2. I practiced for an hour yesterday, and still can’t get the icing roses right. My wrist has now fallen off.
  3. I have webmaster stuff for three different sites to take care of, and I haven’t even begun. Time’s a-wastin’.
  4. Can’t believe I’m worrying about all this garbage when the Js will be here for a visit within the next 45 minutes.
  5. Rousseau is moving ever more slowly. We could see the difference even after the 12 short days we were gone. It’s weighing on my mind and heart like a big ol’ boulder.
  6. Many changes are coming at school for me this fall, and I’ve done nothing to prepare for them. Calgon…
  7. I hate my hair. Time to make the call.
  8. My house needs a deep cleaning. It’s bugging me to death.

So, you say, “Why sit there and complain? Get up and do something about it!”

Why thank you, fiend. I will do just that. So STOP YELLING AT ME

:P (You know I luv you.) And it’s Finkday, for all you private sector cats. Rejoice and be glad! Have a party! Eat chocolate! Read a book! Wear a lampshade! I’m with you in spirit.

Bless your heart. I believe you’re suffering from the still-feeling-the-vacation-freedom syndrome. You were so relaxed and having fun, not thinking about all that awaits on the home-front, and now it’s hitting you all at once. Barfing out a list is the first step – you’ve done that. Now, put them in order of importance and try to conquer one at a time, sweetie. You can do this!

Aw, I feel bad for Rousseau. :-( I know how you feel, too. I’m worried about my sweet Abigail the same way. She’s definitely limping more and moving slower. It’s silly, but this is what I tell myself – when Abby finally “goes”, Mother and Dad will be waiting to take over her care in Heaven. Cuz ya know, I believe ALL animals go to Heaven!

Hang in there, Bird. Have a great time kissing/hugging the J’s!!

Thanks Mavis — it was a great morning! Now on to the “list…”

I will believe that all animules go to heaven, too. What a delightful thought! We’ll just enjoy them while we can, and hope for a peaceful future for them. <3

Hiya!! Sorry to hear about Rousseau, it’s difficult to see our furry friends grow older. :(

Pace yourself for the rest of vacation, you don’t want to go back the first day and wonder why you squandered your vacation by “working”!

I am getting my hair snipped Tuesday, did you make the call yet? We will be all beautimissness!!

    XOXOXO *smewch*

Awesome, send a photo! Are you keeping it the same style as recently, or changing it up a bit? You know, now that we’re in our forties, we might want to live dangerously. :P~~~~~~~~ XO

I hope you made some progress on the items you mentioned. I used to have the same feelings about the “stuff” on my desk and my to do list. You’ll remember that my desk was always a mess. It must have driven you crazy! But now, my desk is not quite as cluttered. Retirement has contributed to that. I’m sorry about Rousseau. That was a super picture of him (in my humble opinion, worthy of framing) that you posted on FB.

Come to think of it, I rarely saw the surface of your desk. LOL

But isn’t retirement great, honestly? I think about you retired types all the time, with fondness of course, but with envy too. :-) Like we’ve discussed before — I will still need to work when I retire, but hopefully it’ll be a job that requires a bit less time and stress than 9-hour workdays + rehearsals for 2 shows a year. I’m about ready to put that behind me.

Thanks for the kind comment on Rousseau’s photo. It’s a fact of life: if you don’t want the heartbreak of losing a pet, you shouldn’t get one. But he’s such a sweety, who could have resisted?!?

Lampshades are my preferred head covering.

Sorry to hear you have things piling up that cause you a bother. I wish I could help but I’m no expert about any of these things haha. I reckon I’ll get to jabber at you in person soon enough ehh?

    Moonlight Kingdom Monday!

Indeed, my fine feathered fiend — tomorrow it is! MK! Have you read any reviews? They are mostly fab.

See you Monday at 2:20, Kemosabe!

PS — what’s your initial impression on Malick’s new movie? Have you heard/read anything? (The one with Ben Affleck and Rachel McAdams.)

I really haven’t heard much about it. I think he actually has two in the works “To The Wonder” which is the Affleck McAdams project and “Knight of Cups” with Christian Bale and some other people. He’s gone 5/5 with perfect movies every time to my taste so I’m pretty optimistic!

Everything I hear about “Moonlight Kingdom” makes it sound great! And I love Wes Anderson movies already.

I’m so sorry to hear about Rousseau… Both Annie & Duke are definitely slowing down as well. Annie was LONG overdue for shots & a check-up, so took her in a couple weeks ago. The vet recommended putting **both** of the kids on a veterinary-grade glucosamine (stronger than anything OTC for people & optimized for pets).

2 weeks later & I think it’s already starting to have some effect. Annie is getting up & around MUCH easier, and Duke is back to bouncing off the walls like he used to before all this surgery stuff happened.

I don’t know if it’s in the financial cards for you to try it for a couple months to see if it gives Rousseau some relief & comfort. It’s called “Dasuquin with M5M” by Nutramax. I just noticed that the Rx I’ve got is for “large dogs – 60lbs & over.” Is Rousseau that big? Maybe a bottle of the dose more appropriate for his size might be less expensive. Just a thought…

Hey that is great to hear about your pups getting around easier! We have indeed talked about getting Rousseau on Dasuquin. He weighs 65 lbs., so he’d be perfect for the Nutramax stuff. We need to get on it and see if it helps!
