30 Day Challenge 22

Day 22
What’s your favorite candy?

And please — no saying, “I don’t like candy,”  because there must be some kind of candy you like. Think hard; it’s out there. Everyone likes a sweet once in awhile. Get in touch with your inner nine-year-old. He or she will guide you.

My all-time favorite candy WAS — I say, WAS — Brach’s Malted Milk Balls. Actually, it still is, but the cheapskates at Farley’s & Sathers changed the recipe (undoubtedly to cut corners) when they bought out Brach’s, and destroyed every last vestige of what made them taste great. Now they taste like Whoppers — eww. So I guess I’ll go with my 2nd favorite: soft, fluffy marshmallows. Or Milky Way bars. Or, um…

Maybe I should have changed the question to a Top Ten list. :-)

Oh Lawdy it would be easier to say what I DON’T like! But if you insist on naming my favorite…..

Reese’s PB cups and I can’t get them here.
Hershey’s milk chocolate with almonds and I can’t get them here.
Tootsie Roll Pops and I can’t get them here.
Heath Bars and I can’t get them here.

    BUT! I can get:

    Lion bars
    Bounty bars
    Dark chocolate bars
    Toblerone bars
    M&Ms

    etc
    etc

    etc

    etc

    etccccccccccc!!!!

Now I need a piece of chocolate and there isn’t any in the house!

Which reminds me, I want to know about your you know what a couple of Saturdays ago…

Didn’t I send you a Hershey’s with almonds awhile back? And I owe you a big fat mail — one more concert and I’m free and EZ!! <3

Unlike my spouse who thinks that it isn’t candy unless it contains chocolate….I am a fan of non-chocolate candy….Twizzlers, Dots, gummy bears, etc….but my all time favorites are the candied fruit slices. Not those big fat ones but the ones that are flat and have a “rind” of sorts on the edge. If you are a fan of such things then you will know exactly what I mean – if not then you don’t know what you are missing!!!

I know exactly the ones you’re talking about, and those get a thumbs-up, although I can only eat one or two. My mom loved the other kind (the fat orange slices). And I owe you a big mail, too, friend!! HUGZ

    OMG.
Lindor chocolates – any variety – a little slice of heaven in a foil wrapper.

I also like Zagnut bars – very hard to find these days – and Sugar Babies.

If it has chocolate in it, I’ll eat it!! I’m not a fan of any non-choco candy like skittles, starburts, etc. or anything sour. I think all of those hard candies have an unappetizing fake fruit taste. Yuck! And I’m with PK on the Lindor chocolates. Too bad the fat content in one serving is 60% DV. But THAT is why they are so delicious! I enjoy Hershey bars, twix, reese’s, and almond joys as well. Yummmmm. :)

Lindor, Ghirardelli, Toblerone…I’ll take ’em all, fat content notwithstanding. :-)

Thanks for coming to my concert last night, doll. We must get together!

I’m an admitted choc-aholic! There is a tie for my all-time favorite chocolates between the following:

    1. Raisinettes (the new dark chocolate variety)
    http://www.candyblog.net/blog/item/dark_raisinets/
    2. A Finnish chocolate that has a little shot of Finlandia Vodka inside
    (http://www.amazon.com/Fazer-Liquer-Fills-Vodka-Liqueur/dp/B001TOWIG0)

When I was going to Finland a lot for work, I would ALWAYS bring back a box or 2 of these yummies (readily available in the Duty Free shop @ the airport on my way back home). But alas, I’ve not had any for the past 5 years since leaving Nokia.

…so I settle for a big bag of Raisinettes ANY day of the week!!

Me too! Me too! I adore Raisinettes…I just wish raisins didn’t hate me. :-( Ouch. But I could eat ’em by the bag full!

Symphony bars are delicious, but I love Mars Bars. I had them in Australia, and I still maintain that they do not taste exactly like Milky Way.

My problem is I’ve never tasted a candy that I didn’t like. However, among my favorites are any mixture of chocolate and carmel (Milk Duds, Twix, Turtles, etc.). Also root beer barrels, orange slices (don’t chew them — suck on them — savor the flavor). Jelly Bellies; or about any candy that’s on sale.
