The driver of the truck told us that he allowed the furniture store staff pack the boxes in his truck bed (he'd just bought them .... ouch), and he didn't check how secure they were. That's one of those mistakes (like the time when Seamus backed the boat into the water without first replacing the drain plug) that you only make once. Sheesh!
