If you read Ross's comments about it -- I totally agree that it tests one's suspension of disbelief to the absolute breaking point. (<em>Dirty Dancing</em> did that for me.) I just loved the soundtrack! But what I didn't tell Ross was that I really identified with Ariel. Being raised strict Baptist where dancing was evil, going to restaurants that served alcohol was a no-no, and movies were taboo unless they were G-rated (and this was in the early seventies!)...I totally get her.
